European Composites Industry Association (EuCIA), a federation of the European composite materials industry, has a new Managing Director: Ben Drogt. He studied aerospace engineering and technologies and he has 25-year DSM experience. In fact he has held different roles in research and management.
In the past, the function of Managing Director was not present in the organization chart of the association.
Drogt has been active in EuCIA since 2015.
he has participated in several projects focused on the sustainability of composite materials, including the development of the Eco Calculator tool. Drogt said he is convinced that the composites industry has a bright future in Europe, well supported by the associations that make up EuCIA. He is also convinced that there are challenges that need representation at the European level. EuCIA will play this role and the decision to expand the organization with the role of Managing Director is a sign of his commitment to this.

Based in Brussels, EuCIA represents at the European level the national associations of the composite materials industry, a sector that boasts at the continental level over 10 thousand companies and 150,000 employees. The current president is Roberto Frassine, president of the Italian association Assocompositi.
