Researchers from Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden, have created a structural battery that achieves ten times better performance than all previous versions. It is made of carbon fiber which at the same time plays the role of electrode, conductor, and carrier material. The latest research paves the way for essentially no-mass energy storage in vehicles and other technologies.
Roboze presented Roboze Automate that aims to make 3D printing customized with special polymers and composite materials suitable for the typical workflow of automated production. The additive manufacturing solution addresses industry’s historic challenge for standardization and process control for production of repeatable parts.
In California two innovators – Palari Group and Mighty Buildings – are working together to build a community of 3D printed zero-net energy homes with a 100% polymer composite panel. The panel is 3D printed and it is complete with structure, insulation, MEP integration, air/moisture/fire barrier & interior/exterior finishes.
