Every year a large amount of textile waste is generated by the fashion sector. Recently this phenomenon has rapidly worsened due to the spread of the “fast fashion” concept, based on a linear economic model and mass consumption. Vendée Globe skipper Armel Tripon is collaborating with Airbus Technocentre of Nantes to develop a new IMOCA constructed from declassified carbon fiber and the remains of composite materials.
